Opened in 2002, Pecan Creek Elementary is named for Pecan Creek, an intermittent stream that flows through the southwest Denton landscape and into Lake Lewisville on the southern portion of the county. The school serves students in the Ryan High School Zone. 

Pecan Creek is also one of the district’s two-way dual-language campuses, which allows students to learn from their teachers and each other in English and Spanish. The program has created a strong bond between the school’s families, students and local businesses, who support the new communication avenues developed through the program.
